The worst people in the world are celebrating the passage of CA's #Prop36. "The CEO of #CoreCivic, one of the nation’s largest operators of private prisons and #detention centers, pointed to Prop 36’s passage as a bellwether of good fortune". https://www.sfchronicle.com/politics/article/private-prisons-prop-36-19974507.php?

I am delighted that California's #Prop36 was approved by our voters. Michelle Parris complained that "Voters are asking elected officials for real solutions to crime, not mass incarceration." A real solution to crime is to imprison career criminals, which is what #Prop36 does. #CriminalJustice

"How Proposition 36 convinced Californians to vote against their political views" was the title of a grossly misleading article written in @CALMatters, apparently by a soft-on-crime extremist who is out of step with voters in California who overwhelmingly voted for #Prop36. Before this Proposition was passed, stealing $900.00 was treated as a minor crime, and that is crazy because it encourages theft. #CriminalJustice #crime

CW: California politics, no on Prop 36
#Prop36 is a false solution to real problems. It would take a huge step backwards in California’s progress by reverting us back to the failed policy era of “tough on crime” and “three strikes.”
