"Let them burn their house down” hypothesis.
With the colossal incompetence of Trump and the stupidity of the ongoing US war crime in Iran which has caused significant economic and humanitarian impact on the world, I’ve had a lingering question.
“Why hasn’t China, the EU, and other countries acted to block the US actions in Iran?”
And it finally dawned on me. They’re doing what I’ve been saying that we in the US need to do. Let our child drug addict (the US) wallow around at the bottom of the barrel to finally break our addiction to Trump, the Republican Party, and stupidity in general.
The world is letting the US burn down its house. Destroy its reputation. Alienate its friends and allies. Wreck its economy. And severely damage its own people’s lives. All the while the world is realizing that they are much better off less dependent on an unreliable and abusive US partner.
The US has had it coming for a long time.

J'ai un vrai problème avec mon téléphone.
Un moment de blanc en terrasse avec des amis ? Je sors mon téléphone et je commence à scroller.
Un moment calme avec ma compagne ? Même réflexe.
De l'extérieur, ça peut passer pour de l'impolitesse, mais je me rends compte que c'est devenu un automatisme difficile à contrôler.
Ces applications sont conçues pour capter notre attention, et je me fais régulièrement happer.

Anyone else thinking of drastically reducing smartphone usage?
My 1st step: leaving my phone at my office when I leave for the day.
*I do have an Apple watch, and will be adding cellular to it for calls, etc.
So far, I've notice many mental "wants" towards picking up my phone. I can "feel" the need and to be honest, is currently hard to deal with.

Because I see my life after the addiction, and I am yet to take it from there. But every time I go through this cycle, my life slowly begins to improve. And the connection with whatever's out there (God, cosmic intelligence, The Universe) becomes stonger and clearer. I'm not religious, btw. And I begin to need less, which honestly feels like "freedom." If you're on the fence about quitting something or even becoming "straight edge," go for it. 2/3

It's an uncomfortable truth that people would rather ruin their lives than face the truth of their life (which at this time will be uncomfortable). That seems the paradox of addiction. And I'm not talking "heroin." Weed, video games, netflix, PMO, recreational eating, and so on. Every time I quit an addiction, it's as if I peel-off a layer and I see my life more clearly. And at this point in time, it's usually a bit disappointing to see. 1/3

Italy is opening a center to prevent social media addiction without outright banning the technology. It will be interesting to see how that works out and what lessons parents can take from it, especially as AI is supercharging the addiction potential.

I’m on my way to volunteer at the New England Center and Home for Veterans here in Boston.
➡️ It’s a reminder that when we see someone who may be experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, or active addiction, we’re seeing a human being. They could be a veteran, someone’s father, mother, son, daughter, grandparent, or loved one — someone who belongs to somebody.
I’ve been homeless before. The only reason I was able to rebuild my life was because people believed in me and gave me hope.

...and quite possibly the CAUSE of our evolution from smart monkeys to (presumably, the jury is still out...) smarter apes.And you caffeine addicts don't get off either, that comes with it's own niche withdrawal symptoms and degrading of physical and mental performance if you don't take your personally selected dose.
