@MarkAsser
Android is Google and afaik Google decides what apps can are available to download from Play Store. There are plenty of privacy apps there but I wouldn’t install any of them because google still accesses what it likes despite thosse privacy apps on your device. (Happy to be corected on this)There is one app that is a *must* have on any Android devices and that is the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s (IFF) Privacy Badger extension for your browser. Log on to your browser and search for it to download. That’s about all I can tell you Good luck
PS. I’m slowly (too slowy) going Linux for everything, but it takes some work to do this for all of my devices. Not for the faint hearted.

@centaury Not actually recommending but you can check out https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.mathema.privacyblur It used to be FOSS I think but not any more. The older FOSS version is on F-Droid.
There's also https://github.com/guardianproject/ObscuraCam but appears to be abandoned.

Does anyone have experience with Sekreto https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.example.sekreto/? It’s a new encrypted messaging app, and the user interface is in Esperanto or Russian. It seems similar to Threema and has a GitHub page: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/-/merge_requests. However, I can’t find any descriptions in Esperanto, so I assume that Russian is the main developer language, but that’s just a guess. I hope the community here knows more about it!
