  1. @ascentale @moz @bikenite Can anyone cite the German standard for non-flashing lights? I have a built-in rear light off the front wheel dynamo of my #prioritybicycles 600 and it's steady. I have an additional rear USB light from #pdw and I always run it on flash to save battery life. #bikenite

  3. @ascentale @bikenite Joining bikenite from south central Minnesota on a warm, smokey evening. Wild fires in western Canada are terrible this year and the smoke is already drifting east and south so Air Quality warnings are going up. Which didn’t stop me from a 30 mi gravel ride Tuesday in the last of the rain. New in cycling was getting around to swapping the belt on my #prioritybicycles and the quiet is back in my ride! @bikenite #bikenite

  5. Tuesday Night Gravel last night was a bit damp and smaller groups, but a good day since I got out on the #prioritybicycles. Toured the spring planting. Almost came off over some potholes but managed to keep my seat. Then laid the bike down at the end going over a road construction curb but managed to land on my feet since I was going so slow. Have to do some adjusting today to get things back to proper positions. #tng #BikeTooter #gravel

  7. @RichSPK Yes, a 600. Got it 2 years ago, just over 7k miles. My one and only bike. Gravel, trails, roads, with trailer and/or panniers. Love it. #prioritybicycles

  9. Today’s bicycle task was not to ride, but to fix the sqeek on my #prioritybicycles belt. Only 6800 miles on the belt but due to a user-error event last year it was damaged and while still operating fine, made a loud squeeking noise with every rotation. Even got my Gates cricket to work again and got the tension set. Now that I know to change out the screws every 2nd time and have the proper torque wrench, stuff “magically worked”. Once again, proper tool for the proper job #BikeTooter

  11. @ascentale @DurableAce @bikenite Well, I have a small multi-hex tool that I use more than anything to tighten stuff up periodically. Next to that, my ProTool torque wrench as the tension system on my #prioritybicycles needs to be seriously torqued (15Nm) when adjusting the tension. #bikenite

  13. @ascentale @bikenite I sometimes have that issue with my #prioritybicycles 600, seems to be a bit of a problem for me. But, once I figured it out, I often reverse or change the direction I’m leaning (if possible) and it’s fine. Otherwise I’m using a velco or reuseable twist tie to keep the front wheel from moving when trying to park. #bikenite

  15. I love riding my #prioritybicycles 600 #bicycle around rural #MNastodon We’re finishing the warmest and dryest September on record here and the fields are really close to ready for harvest. I just wish I had the talent to capture the scenes I see. But, it’s what I got from enjoying a great 25 mile ride in “second August”.

  17. @ascentale @sam I have to throw my #prioritybicycles 600 into the mix if you are not into serious off-road touring. It’s a mostly commuter that can handle gravel roads easily and almost any incline. I use it with panniers and a single wheel trailer if I’m touring. The #pinion C.12 is twelve non-overlapping gears so you can go anywhere, you just don’t go fast. #bikenite

  19. @natematias @ascentale @ThatPrilla @sam As as #prioritybicycles user, I was going to suggest looking at them. Many styles including folding are on their web site. #bikenite Be Aware, they are on-line only, no LBS network, but worth looking at.

  21. @ascentale @genex Joining #bikenite Sunday (local) am from north central Minnesota #MNastodon . My only bike is a #prioritybicycles 600 and my favorite configuration with trailer, bags and all the gear on a #bicycletouring trip.

  23. @dr2chase @ascentale @bikescape I had to troubleshoot the light on my #prioritybicycles which come stock with dynamo and ended up calling support to find out they put out AC. Blew my mind as I always assumed it was DC. #bikenite

  25. #BikeTooter Took advantage of another unseasonably warm day here in #MNastodon yesterday for almost 60km (40 miles) #prioritybicycles under partial sun. Fields around here are being prepared for early planting, but always are reminders of farms past. Unfortunately ride was 3 parts, by the time I got home I had to change shoes and take the dog out for her walk for another 8km (5 miles) on tired legs #30daysofbiking day 2, but I'll keep trying. No riding today, winds in excess of 45 kph and rain

  26. A belated Day1 of #30daysofbiking. Finally got out on the #prioritybicycles for a ride today. Passed through town so stopped at Martha's for a lunch and snapped a picture at the ball field and some #publicart in town. Seems that summer is already here, it was 27C this afternoon in #MNastodon ! #BikeTooter

  27. @spacehobo @ascentale @bikenite #bikenite A3 I’m definitely in the belt drive camp since the acquisition of my #prioritybicycles. But, the cost of a hub/transmission compared to a deraileur can be difficult to overcome and replacing it in the field takes some work compared to replacing a link/links. IF the belt lasts 10000 miles as claimed, I think it’s worth the investment vs chains since at the end of a day; mud, sand, dirt, all I do is hose/brush it off.

  29. Incredible, 70F (21 C) today and it’s not even the middle of March. Nothing for it but get on the #prioritybicycles and check out some back roads. Lakes and rivers are all ice free weeks early. Good day with light winds, 30 miles and 2000 feet of climbing. #BikeTooter #cycling

  30. Hurray! Back on the #prioritybicycles #priority600 for a #bicycle ride after almost 2 weeks. This years “non-winter” is officially now a “early-spring” but today the winds abated and the sun was mostly out. Got some nice hills done and really enjoyed the ride. #BikeTooter

  31. Back on the #prioritybicycles for a delivery ride today. Avoided driving 28 odd miles by taking the #bike for a spin of 32 with a few climbs. Plenty of sunshine and almost 50F (10C), still some snow but only had to walk one stretch. Lot’s of open water for the ducks. #BikeTooter #cycling #biking #MNastodon

  32. The bizarre “winter” of 2024 continues. Today’s version: The calm before the Storm. Longest winter thaw on record (only 150 years or so) will end tomorrow, but sunny and 40+F this morning. So, nothing for it but get on the #prioritybicycles and get a ride in before the estimated 2-6 inches of rain and snow tonight. There are worse ways to prepare for snow than #cycling ! #MNastodon #BikeTooter Kudo’s to MN State Climatology office for great write ups: dnr.state.mn.us/climate/journa

  34. @rvaughnmd I have a Pinion on a #prioritybicycles 600 with a Pinion gearbox and Gates belt. I ride about 50% gravel. When I'm done I take a brush and clean off the belt and sprockets. Worse case a pail of water and a brush to make sure it's clean.

  36. @NewNordicNormal @ascentale @kimu Was looking at the #prioritybicycles folder when it first came out "just because" but when I realized it wasn't flat I kind of let it ride. But I saw the "8" I kind of thought maybe I shouldn't be riding my #cycletouring / #bicycletouring bike for local rides. Kind of what led me to tonight's questions.

  37. @glent @ascentale #bikenite @bikenite Great reply. I ride a #prioritybicycles with the gears in the frame (Pinion) and it's been extremely reliable with trailering and gravel riding, so I like your analysis. Have you riden any of the hub drives, or know someone who has? What's been their experience? I'm thinking of adding a "gravel/commuter" with an Alfine8 and wonder if it will hold up? Or if I will!

  38. @NewNordicNormal @ascentale @kimu #bikenite I have a #prioritybicycles and their customer response to questions is very good. If you need to know some specific, I'd email them and ask. Happy to front the question for you if you'd like.

  39. @ascentale #bikenite @bikenite I have a Pinion with 12 gears on my #prioritybicycles 600. Many folks have gears built into the rear hub. Hoping that I hear that these are as reliable and usefulll.
