It’s been a WHILE since I last did one of these!
My 93rd issue dives back into A Visual Playthrough, this time inside Hidden Realms: The Mummy’s Tomb.
Enter the tomb:

One of my favorite things lately?
Learning what goes on behind the games we play.
My 92nd issue is the story behind Rope Walkers, a game where the world split in two!
-
Two rival shops. An alley full of ninjas.
And an absolutely ridiculous amount of spying going on!

Roll-and-write x real-life management simulation!
Midtown Mall took a route less traveled, and had me hooked on its engine-building chain reactions.
Result? I ran my own shopping mall!

Equal parts cute. Equal parts mayhem!
Been playing Red Panda Surprise lately, where Dylan managed to pull off his signature “looks cute, plays clever” magic yet again.

I’ve always been curious about what goes into creating a game.
Got a lovely peek into Midtown Mall, thanks to its creator, Romin!
That story is at the center of my 89th issue:

Dynamic PnP games are cranking things up, with Minomancer launching in less than a week.

The world split in two.
And you’re right in the middle of it. On a rope. At a festival. Crossing it.
What better way to kick off this year’s Micro May on Kickstarter than with what I’d call a pocket-sized dynamite: Rope Walkers.
Just dropped the full review. Curious how far you’d make it?

Ever played a 3D roll-and-write?
Last year threw OQUO at me. My first 3D print-and-play.
And this year- Iron Quest!
My 87th issue walks through how micro events could shine a light on gems like this.

G4M explores the intersection of #improvisedMusic and #tabletopGames.
We have a library where authors may put their #printandplay #musicGames, a catalogue of items published elsewhere, and a #wiki to track all the developing theory and history of the field.
Topics of interest include #experimentalMusic, #boardGames, #ttrpgs, #musicEducation, #creativeCommons, and more.
The wiki webpage is at:
http://musicgames.wikidot.com
but if you look for any info about game pieces, feel free to @ us here in the Fediverse. We restart our activity on a new instance. Boosts will help us reach our previous contacts (thank you).

Not to start a war, but... 👀
If you had to give one the slightest edge in games, what gets the nod: theme/story or mechanics?
Shared my own take in Issue #85. Don’t hate me please. 😅

Rock. Paper. Scissors. KABOOM? 💥
Never fully trusted that childhood classic, so naturally... I tried to redesign it!
Read about the silly little experiment in my 83rd issue:

Played with them yesterday, people at the table liked the idea. I enjoyed using them, I would have 2d20s ready to use constantly in front of me ready when needed. Also two damage dice rolls ready (d10).

I can feel it in my bones!
Something tells me this year’s Micro May will be even bigger than 2025’s. Maybe because of the game I already have in hand? 🤔
Read my latest issue on Micro May:

Sound off: does anyone actually go through the effort of printing and cutting print-and-play games? Is it worth offering that format for my games?

Thirty rolls later, you either built a smart rail network… or a mess.
