  1. Good morning from Minneapolis where, after an evening of strong winds and light rain, we've clawed our way to Friday, fair skies, and a forecast high of 88℉.

Warm enough for you? We're only a few days past the average frost date here, according to signs at the neighborhood greenhouse.

Quite early Friday morning it's 62℉; light southwest winds; barometer reads Change; visibility 10 miles at the airport.

    - Very warm, dry, & windy conditions today, will create critical fire weather conditions again this afternoon & evening.

There's a song that they sing when they take to the highway
A song that they sing when they take to the sea
Song that they sing of their home in the sky
Maybe you can believe it if it helps you to sleep
But singing works just fine for me

  2. Good morning from Minneapolis, where it might as well be Spring.

Quite early Wednesday it's 52℉, heading for a forecast high of 74℉. The winds have calmed down.

    - Next shower and thunderstorm chance on Thursday with a more active period this weekend into early next week.

    - Fire weather remains a concern with Friday as the day with the highest risk due to the overlap of gusty winds and dry air.

WHEN spring came, after that hard winter, one could not get enough of the nimble air. Every morning I wakened with a fresh consciousness that winter was over. There were none of the signs of spring for which I used to watch in Virginia, no budding woods or blooming gardens. There was only — spring itself; the throb of it, the light restlessness, the vital essence of it everywhere; in the sky, in the swift clouds, in the pale sunshine, and in the warm, high wind — rising suddenly, sinking suddenly, impulsive and playful like a big puppy that pawed you and then lay down to be petted. If I had been tossed down blindfold on that red prairie, I should have known that it was spring.
