The errors themselves redacted the key values, but the important clues were "Out of sync ratchet upon ratcheting." and "Mismatch in ratchet state, attempting to decrypt with message key with indicator: <private> instead of <private>." Apple wrote a blog post, but it only hints at my issue https://security.apple.com/blog/imessage-pq3/

I seem to have (hopefully) resolved the problem by signing out of Messages and back in on one device. The errors stopped on the other device.

Хоть убейте, не нашёл отличий. Впервые увидел на Коде Дурова , там, как обычно, не дали подробностей. Ключи используются от устройств, ну и что? Сейчас не также? Также. Приватный ключ здесь, публичный остальным, приватный никому не показываем. Всё, пошло поехало. Но это же Apple! Не может всё так быть просто. Окей, ищу дальше, натыкаюсь на securitylab, там уже побольше подробностей.

Apple iMessenger with some big updates. They now support perfect forward secrecy and post quantum encryption.... It only runs on iphones tho i sadly file this under 🤡 💩 but I guess it's great if everyone you want to talk to is an Apple user 🤷🏿

They mentioned formal verification and suggest that we'll be able to review but no clear mission goal to make this easy for 3rd party apps to support.

#Apple rollout of #PQ3 is intended to disrupt bad actors keeping intercepted encrypted messages until #Quantum Computing is strong enough to decrypt them - it's a bit of a cause célèbre between Apple and the Feds-good luck with that!

Big outfits I know have an overlay of "one time pad" (old as the hills) encryption and plan to use QUbit entanglement technology to detect interception. Criminals like OTP (because they can understand it)

I suspect Trojan Horse hacks trumps (excuse pun) them all!
