  3. An anti-vaccine activist gave a presentation at the CDC's vaccine advisory committee today about the supposed risks of thimerosal. Lynn Redwood, a nurse practitioner who is president emerita of Children's Health Defense, claimed that the preservative is linked to brain inflammation, which she said was "one of the hallmarks we see in autism." Any association between thimerosal and autism has been widely debunked.
