That was fun! Just made a personal voice for @TheZooLady to use on her phone. Yep, think I *will* be going back to iOS for my next phone; there's enough stuff to sway me back now. LOL Gonna be a bit though. Unless #Android a) finally gets its thumb out of its ass and supports the NLS eReader properly, b) actually has an app that can do live recognition, and c) comes out with an equivalent to the #iOS #PersonalVoice feature. Oh yeah and/or implements the continuous BSI thing.

I created my #PersonalVoice using the Mac, and overall it was a pretty pleasant process. This is an accurate reproduction of my vocal sound, but the inflection is definitely not mine. Still, this is useful technology that will undoubtedly get better. Here's the voice, reading quotes from the Fact Sphere from Portal2.

Personal Voice got a callout during the Neural Engine segment.
I stand by what I said before: yes, there is potential for abuse and exploits here, but this is accessibility, and it is good. And someone else will make something (already has, frankly) capable of the same exploits that would be much easier for a third-party to complete without participation by the target.

Den Hinweis auf Menschen mit Einschränkungen sehe ich, sorry, als Marketing - klassisches Whitewashing. Den Hinweis auf „nur wenn Nutzer zustimmmt“ bez. iCloud auch: wer wird seine Stimme auf jedem Gerät neu generieren?
Kritischer aber sehe ich #privacy: dann gebe ich meine Stimme ab/auf? Dann kann ja potentiell jeder Text damit gelesen werden. Und die Rechte an der Stimme hat dann wer?
