Science is used politically in the US. Alexander Furnas at ICSSI 2024 shows Democrat Congressional reports cite science 1.8X more vs Republicans; left think tanks 5X more vs right think tanks. There's little bipartisan citation of papers and they focus on different topics... and there's lots of bad science cited. Dems cite higher impact science more; Repubs cite preprints more.
