Morricone opera, Partenope, debuts in Naples. This is fascinating, produced by Teatro San Carlo, Naples, an opera which I hope will come to Seattle Opera. It's not movie music, but more from his earlier training in Rome's St Cecilia where experimental musicians such as John Cage performed and informed students including Morricone. No violins. 3 flutes, winds. Indigenous percussion. Greek modes. There's a home for this in Seattle via Cornish.
