I was messing with the app open emu oh my Apple Macintosh.

No I can play Sega Genesis, 32X, SNES and Turbo Grafx 16 #games.

Boy did I have fun.

What's really great is that there are Rom hacks with optimizations for games. For example: SHADOW DANCER 3 hit hack. The game was always great but you die on instant Hit. Now there's a heck and you can take up to three hits which makes the game less frustrating.

@AndyGER #macgaming is an eternal disappointment.

But, I find my M1 #macbookair and M1 Max #MacStudio excellent at emulation. I’ve played a lot of NHL 94 via #OpenEMU. Runs rock solid.

Жена привезла мне мой контроллер от #xbox, который я использовал на макбуке, чтобы с помощью #openemu играть в игы с #NES и #Sega.

Да вот незадача — #macOS я обновил до 12.6 (ради софта для видеонаблюдения, нужного для работы корешу, которому этот ноут дал пользоваться за еду), совместимость с самопальным драйвером контроллера пропала, а проект мейнтейнер забросил ещё на выходе Big Sur, написав – да хер оно взлетит. Для пересборки рекомендуется откатить #xcode с 7 до 6.4, app store предлагает напротив – обновиться с 10 до 14. Может мейнтейнер и прав.

И я вот думаю, что бы мне сделать со всем этим. Есть под руками #Ubuntu 22.04, поди с проприетарным драйвером нвидеокарты (чуть-чуть потянувшим #Metro 2033 Redux!) там даже греться ничего не будет. Но с #Gens вроде ситуация схожая – нихера не работает на свежих ОС, сборки под Windows – пожалуйста. А openemu нравится – за одно лишь то, что он красивый (над ним явно поработал дизайнер). Чего-нибудь похожее хотелось бы и в #Linux, но надежда моя мала.
