I don't know if any games exist that use it, yet, so this is more for developers, tinkerers and #chiptune composers who want 15 more channels of audio on the NES. This makes me want to write a NES game again.

Apparently, there is already support in #FamiStudio (chiptune tracker for NES) and Mesen2 / Mesen-X emulators.

I wanted to do over my EPSM FC after a few nonworking and partially-working prototypes.

I expanded upon the initial daughterboard idea from Perkka and added a couple more.

I hope this works out because my time, money, and motivation is much more constrained than before.

Expansion Port Sound Module or #EPSM; it lets you play expanded audio from #jpn #famicom #carts &/or #roms. Installs onto the unused port on the bottom of the #NES. I need to update my old #powerpak w whatever is the latest firmware. If not I can always play my actual #fami carts via an adaptor.

Oh snap! It’s a non-soldering mod to get expanded audio for the #NES that the Famicom has. The only cut I had to make was the little piece of plastic that covered the expansion port on the bottom of the case. Sadly I forgot to order a mono 3.5 male to RCA female adaptor. Going to have to check my Dad box of wires to see if I got anything. If not it’s a trip to Yodobashi tomorrow. #retrogaming #mod #EPSM
