Hill training tonight, my pedigree chums. After the disaster that was Tuesdays cross-country, tonight (despite being quite hard) was extremely life-affirming and I feel better than tremendous. It's boring and arbitrary and won't mean anything to you, but as a measurement last time I managed 24 and tonight I did 39. I was also not the worst one.... not that it matters, but it's difficult for my fragile male ego to have to constantly be the poorest runner in a group, but tonight I totally SMASHED a lovely 60 year old woman who's just back from injury and wasn't really trying. IN YOUR FACE, WOMAN! She was really lovely actually and we ran back together after and I think she might now be one of my favourites, the absolute LOSER!

Anyway - once again running has proved to be a magic potion for all that ails me. Although frustratingly I've had to extend my no-alcohol night's because I simply cannot cope if I've had a drink the night before. Thereby making it EVEN BETTER for me, annoyingly. Bloody running. So I am now warming down with a massive g&t, just like Steve Cram might.
