Tiny Dog has started leaning in to the separation anxiety. He used to be ok with Partner working from home while I (his One True Human) work from Elsewhere.

Lately pup has been howling his displeasure at my absence. No one is happy about this. We've tried having Partner and Pup walk me to my car, tried me leaving without fanfare. Pup is still upset.

Tomorrow, we're going to try making a MeScarecrow out of my smelly dirty clothes stuffed with more of my things, and putting it under Partner's desk so Pup can snuggle it. Wish us luck. #oldmandog #separationanxiety

This is Elvis. He's a 16 year old terrier. I inherited him from my grandma about 7 years ago and he's a very good boy. He's got old-man health problems, but none of them seem to bother him. He enjoys short walks through the neighborhood and playing with neighbor pups (except for Honey. Honey is 9 months old and has no chill.) #dogsofthefediverse #oldmandog

He had been returned to the shelter 4 times before then, because he was apparently a flight risk and consistently jumped his owner's fences!

Elvis is a very good circle dog. I really love him.

Backstory: he was my grandma's dog and I inherited him after she died. He's been with me for about 7 years and in that time he's become a very Good Boy. He fits in with the household.

You know how sometimes your pets inspire you? Today my dog Elvis inspired us to vacuum and wet vac the whole downstairs carpet. He is truly a helpful helper who helps.

realized i haven’t mentioned my dog here yet. this is max, he’s probably an australian cattle dog. he turned 15 at some point in August.

Another #OldManDog now, Alex! He just turned 12 1/2, and was our first #BorderCollie when he was 8wk old. Now he's a cantankerous old man with bad knees because he's too stubborn to listen to anyone anymore. Most of the time now he hangs out with me while I WFH, as he mostly creaks his way from bed to bed. That said, he still seems pretty happy as long as we keep the young puppies out of his face.

Realized I can't talk this much about #sheepdogs and hold out on all the cute pictures for #DogsOfMastodon. This is Soot, our oldest #OldManDog retiree. She is 15 1/2, thoroughly senile, and spends most of the day either asleep or barking randomly at boojums only she can see. ❤️ She is certain she runs the whole farm.
