@gooba42 @ThomHartmann Hobby Lobby is one of the reasons several friends of mine were fired from #OklahomaChristianUniversity, my--ugh 🤢--alma mater.
The friends in question were faculty (one, a tenured prof of 40 yrs) and staff who openly affirmed LGBTQ students & persons in general. Long story short, a member of the Green Family Hobby Lobby regime is an OC student & took offense at this open affirmation.
Hobby Lobby donated a shit ton of money to OC *after* the 40yr tenured prof was fired.
Well, my alma mater #OklahomaChristianUniversity has done it again. Heard just this morning that a staff member and a professor have been fired: because they support LGBTQ students, and because of their association with an affirming church. Staff member fired on the spot, professor under contract until end of schoolyear.
This makes 4 of my personal friends who've been terminated at OC because they aren't bigots.
I am so disgusted and livid.
@natematias My alma mater, a private university, fired two professors last year--one *tenured*--because of their LGBTQ-affirming stance. It's simply unconscionable.
This was discussed on the bird app last year, but I have yet to see anything about it on Mastodon. I interacted with one of the people involved yesterday, so it's fresh on my mind.
I am embarrassed to call #OklahomaChristianUniversity my alma mater, and I hope Jacobs, O'Keefe, and Hale win everything they're suing for and more.
