Swapped the top and bottom boxes today and added a queen excluder (amongst other upgrades) to the observation hive. Also took a few frames for a split. These ladies were surprisingly chill through the adjustments ❤️ #BeeKeeping #ObservationHive

#Bees are starting to build comb on the comb frames! It’s all on the inside edge so far, but hopefully they will thicken it as they build out and use the whole frame. Looks like my #3dPrinting skills are useful! #BeeKeeping #ObservationHive

I see eggs! Phone is having trouble focusing on them but they are there, centered in the bottom of the cells perfectly. I’m thrilled that she is laying on the outer frame, so I’ll be able to watch them raise their brood ❤️ #BeeKeeping #ObservationHive

And here is the observation hive, they are doing great! Still tweaking the exterior exit, the goal is to have them exit up at the top of the mesh tube, but for now I just want them all to be able to get out easily to forage and poop since they’ve been cooped up for so long due to the storms. #beekeeping #beestodon #ObservationHive

I just heard the term beepression yesterday, referring to the off season when you can’t do anything with your bees other than hope they make it through winter and wait impatiently for spring. I totally get it. I think a good antidote though is an #ObservationHive, at least I can check on this hive whenever I want. Yea, I talk to them too. #bees #beeKeeping #beestodon
