Alaska remains at a Preparedness Level 5 and the nation’s highest priority. Initial attack was light again on Monday, and new starts were met with swift initial attack. There are about 1,800 personnel assigned to 27 staffed fires. Nearly 590,000 acres have burned this year – an increase of about 70,000 acres since yesterday.
