On August 8, a new batch of 60 free and open source projects was selected for the NGI Zero Commons Fund.
We want to thank these project teams for working on the digital commons and contributing to open, secure and trustworthy digital infrastructure for all.
This brings the total of grantees within the programme to 494 projects. There are still two more calls currently under evaluation for the program.
Meet the projects! https://nlnet.nl/news/2026/20260808-60-new-projects.html

We made more progress on #TinkerFlow !
965 compile errors are fixed and we have a compilable package now!
We changed the code architecture a bit (actually we just wanted to refactor VR Builder but there are some odd architectures of the core that needed to be fixed :blobcatgoogly: ). But this means a ton of testing and debugging :loading:
There is also a first view of our UI inside Godot (the welcome screen and the process editor). More at https://tinkerflow.eu/posts/2026-08-10-planned-editor-ui/

We (@aronschaub and me) finally started with the work on #TinkerFlow and have our first three blog posts of it at out new blog: https://tinkerflow.eu/#blog.
We can't really show much at the moment because it's a lot in background and refactoring but we're making progress!
Thanks again @nlnet for making this possible!
#ngi0 #nlnet #opensource #godot
Btw: is there a good plugin/tool for connecting hugo-blog system with Mastodon and sync the posts?

New version of ejabberd is out and fixes a security vulnerability. Amongst many other things my mod_invites got a good deal of improvements, a web-admin integration, a new reset password token and a page where users can create invites via web (if that’s allowed). Go get it while it’s hot!
Once again, thanks @nlnet for funding this work!

The second article in our series on digital autonomy looks into the open source software supply chain.
Author Jeffrey McGuire talks to Armijn Hemel (DeviceCode) & Philippe Ombredanne (AboutCode). Both have a long track record building tools to manage the FOSS supply chain.
Read "The Answer Was Already on the Shelf: How public money built defenses for open source software (way) before the law required them" on the @linuxmagazine website.
