#NGC4565 Needle #Galaxy here exposured about a week ago, just before light summer nights starts here in southern #Finland. Telescope 0.3m/F4 Newtonian, LRGB filters 4x~1h.

As a bonus, the image shows also the faint #quasar QSO B1233+262, brightness V 20.84 mag, redshift z ~2.09, so the distance to it is about 11.2 billion light years. Fasten your seat belts tight and avoid a sudden stop because we're moving away from each other at a speed of 243,000 km/s.

Magnitude 10.42 edge-on spiral galaxy located 42.7 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices. It has at least two satellite galaxies, one of which is interacting with it. It has a population of roughly 240 globular clusters, more than the Milky Way.
