My eldest son had to copy a poem for homework. We started looking for poetry books at home. I gave him one by #Szymborska, kept looking, found a translation of #LeonardCohen, skipped it, skipped a few by #NathanAlterman, and found another Szymborska and sat down with it myself. I suggested "In Praise of Self-Deprecation" and waited nervously while he read it. Finally he said, "this is perfect" and my heart leapt.
