Leonard Cohen sang "Tower of Song" live for the very last time during his last concert ever on Dec. 21, 2013 at the Vector Arena in Auckland, NZ. The concert was the finale of his intensive Old Ideas World Tour. The song was programmed that evening as the opening number of his second set. Although he was 79 years old at the time, he gave a monumental show of no less than 28 songs

Looks like some Canadians are going to teach Trump about consent, whether he likes it or not.
As an aside, pretty funny that Trump wanted to use music from a Canadian artist for the “USA Freedom 250” rally.
Next he’ll be wanting to use K.D. Lang’s indisputably perfect version from Canada’s hosting of the Olympics.

I don’t think I’d lived enough life or experienced enough loss, pain, love or heartbreak to fully understand or appreciate Leonard Cohen as a young man.
He is definitely an artist that I’ve become more in tune with as Ive aged & lived my life.
I just couldn’t have made that kind of emotional connection to it as a 14 year old.I think I was actually 14/15 the first time I heard him; through his incredible song “Everybody Knows” that was featured in the 1990 Christian Slater movie Pump Up The Volume.
Long live Happy Harry Hard-On!Cohen became a bigger part of my life after moving to Canada almost 20 years ago.
He is engrained in the culture here; a national hero whose effect on Canadian art, music and culture can never truly be measured.Irreplaceable.

I’d like to reintroduce myself and introduce my album “A Cufflink-Wearing Guy”.
I write songs and over the past 6 years roughly, I’ve collected 10 from about 100 to be recorded, mixed and mastered. As of today, those 10 songs are available to listen to at bandcamp as the album “A Cufflink-Wearing Guy” (https://alastairleonard.bandcamp.com/album/a-cufflink-wearing-guy)
There are songs about fleeting marketplace romances (Sunflowers), and going in search of your life’s purpose (Desert Rose). There are other songs about taking the easy road and waking up late (Mid-Morning Guy) and the housing crisis in Australia (Yoshino Removals). There are even more songs — about bad haircuts (West Coast Haircut) and the disappearance of the bees (Honey Bee). The title track follows a pair of cufflinks given to me as a young man and their trajectory through the following decades. All the lyrics are up there so you can read along while listening if that’s your preference.
The music is roughly what I’d call indie-pop including jangly guitars numbers and piano ballads but there are forays into country twang, latin percussion, and doof.
