Sacramento Executive KSAC → Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County KSTS
The Beechcraft King Air 350i that ships with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is broken. This was my first and last flight with this particular aircraft.
I had to skip several steps in the startup checklist because there are simply no instruments to monitor the engines.
Also missing: the ability to add departure, arrival, and approach procedures to the flight plan.
So, it ended up being mostly a VFR flight, which, fortunately, worked out fine thanks to the excellent weather.
The King Air 350i in MSFS 2020 is the significantly better version.
This leg’s highlights? San Francisco’s skyline, the Bay’s iconic bridges, the rugged beauty of Point Reyes, and a breathtaking sunset.

Back in the Daher TBM 930, with a small sightseeing loop over the Bay with great views of San Francisco and the well-known landmarks.
Today's short trip led to Sacramento, because if you're already in California, it's worth visiting the capital as well.
Apart from some gusts, the weather was excellent.

Because it was so much fun the day before, this time I went again with the Pilatus PC-12. From the Pacific coast, I headed inland, flying along the western edge of the Central Valley. On the way to San Francisco, I passed over the Bay and the Salt Ponds, which still shimmer in stunning colors.

I've been struggling while flying any of the #PMDG #aircraft, with the fact that #FirstOfficer doesn't automatically reset the IRS. Its really a problem, because its not doing that, the IRS isn't properly set, which means that entering in the route data/everything else just makes the route data not show up in the FMC. I know this is the case as I manually lerned how to reset the IRS and was able to get the FMC to show both the departures and arrivals data and was even able to select sids and stars, but didn't go much further than that because it was late and I was tired. Note that I otherwise let TFM (Talking Flight Monitor), load in everything else via the Simbrief uplink save the Sids and Stars, but this proves that I definitely fucked up my First Officer Checklist data for both the 737 and 777 aircrats which I own. I ask, does anyone have a checklist file which properly removes FSO messing around with the FMC, but also allows FSO to reset the IRS? Thanks, I really need the help. Catalina KAVX → Hollywood Burbank KBUR
A scenic flight over the Los Angeles area, climbing up to Mount Wilson, followed by a descent directly to LA Downtown, then eastward past Hollywood Hills to Burbank.
Everything except the ascent into the mountains was flown by hand. It was incredibly smooth, as the Corvalis TT (Cessna 400) handled like a dream in the great weather with little wind.

Instead of taking the short, direct route, I decided to make a detour through Joshua Tree National Park and approach Palm Springs from the north. With the TBM 930, the visit to the national park was significantly shorter than by car (where you can – and should! – easily spend an entire day).

In the early morning, both the moon and the sun were visible at the same time. The sun was just rising as I flew over Kill Devil Hills – the site of the Wright brothers' work and the location of the first motor-powered flight (last image).
A runway length of only 3,000 feet at Billy Mitchell Airfield and crosswinds made the landing quite a challenge.

Back in the United States for another attempt after resolving the technical issues. I’ve updated the keyboard shortcuts before takeoff ;-)
This flight was short but came with stunning views. The gusty crosswinds made landing quite a challenge. Had to make a go-around after the first try but managed to get down safely on the second attempt.
