Earlier this year, I did some gaussian splatting using sharp-ml. This is one of the results.
I used blender and did multiple renders with different materials.

I've spent many years teaching accessibility and media, and the difference is not trivial in my over-educated opinion.
Captions include all sonic information, and are in the same language that is being spoken on screen.
Subtitles are a translation of the spoken dialog only, they do not include sound effects or music, etc. Subtitles present TRANSLATIONS in other languages than what is being spoken on screen.
Captions are a great example of Universal Design, while subtitles are a targeted accommodation for a specific audience.
