  3. #artyear #makersmARTch #mkrsmARTch When I make my carving knives I am fond of finishing the grip shaped epoxy handles with a hard #glaze made from mica flour and a pigmeted wash of shellac resin dissolved in ethyl alcohol. The ferule is made from a double lashing of hemp fiber twine.

Compo is famously used for 'composition molding' that you know if you have seen ornate antique picture frames, etc.. The 'glue' is gelatin hide glue. A thread🧵1/

It’s #button day for #mARTch and #makersMARTch so I'll post, (for the first time ever publicly), this 1980's photograph I took of Professor Bill Holm dancing, wearing his #ButtonBlanket cape, #Frontlet and carrying his #RavenRattle, in front of a large dance screen that I painted with #formlines.
