C’è stato un dibattito, il cui esito era scontato, ma almeno si è avuta l’apparenza di un processo rispettoso della separazione dei poteri. La legge è stata applicata a partire dal 2019.
Nell’ottobre 2023, il gabinetto ha deciso di sequestrare le entrate dell’Autorità Palestinese equivalenti all’importo che essa destina alla Striscia di #Gaza. Per la maggior parte si tratta di indennità destinate a famiglie tradizionalmente contrarie a #Hamas; vale a dire, ai dipendenti del settore pubblico dell’Autorità Palestinese, per lo più fedeli a #Fatah, che, per ordine di #MahmoudAbbas, hanno cessato di lavorare dal 2007 fino al loro pensionamento. ⬇️7

#Fatah, the movement led by #PalestinianAuthority President #MahmoudAbbas, called for the strike, describing the legislation as a “dangerous escalation” against Palestinians.
“This criminal law will not break the will of our people or the determination of our prisoners, but will instead strengthen our resolve to continue the struggle for their freedom and legitimate rights,” it said in a statement.
