I just ran a few comparisons between the MacBook Neo and my HP Elitebook. I‘d put both laptops in roughly the same overall category. They‘re both pretty cheap without dedicated graphics. Accepable performance for everyday applications.
The HP does have more RAM and storage space, but its „Intel Ultra 5 135U“ processor is actually quite a bit slower than the MacBook‘s A18Pro chip, even for gaming. The HP will often turn on its system fan, which can be a bit annoying.
Next to the MacBook, the Elitebook also feels way cheaper and is also thicker and heavier. Lots of plastic parts!

I was underage when I signed up to the Mac vs PC wars. This was around the moment — when colour came in 1987.
In the early days they hadn’t given it the final name yet, and young men were still calling it “Macintosh versus MS-DOS”, calling each other names like “WIMPs” for liking windows, icons, mice and pulldown-menus.

Speaking of stuff that #OldFarts like me remember... the "I'm a Mac" guy is now making commercials promoting Windows on ARM chips. Even though I've always been a PC guy, I had to admit, those old Mac vs. PC commercials were funny as hell, and very well done.

And there it is. Mac Studio is worth my money. 5 minute 8K video rendered in 7 minutes on the Mac Studio. On my TRPro/RTX4090 rig AT BEST it would have taken half an hour to an hour, but most of the time it would have just crashed. (4K would have been fine.) This is nuts. #mac #macstudio #apple #m2ultra #m2 #macvspc
