@sbamueller @fabzgy Das Trans Continental Race in seiner 12. Auflage. Auf immer neuen Routen wird der europäische Kontinent durchquert. Sogenannte Parcours und Checkpoints geben der Route ein gewisses Gesicht. Oft sind es schwierige (Offroad-)Passagen. Dazwischen sind die Fahrerinnen und Fahrer frei in der Routenwahl. Viele geforderte "Disziplinen" geben auch Menschen ohne kräftige Beine gute Chancen. Christoph Strasser sagt immer, es wäre ein einziger Troubleshooting -Wettbewerb.
Einen sehr schönen Einblick in Ultra Races gibt Jana Kesenheimer in dem Film "Three Peaks and in Between", der während ihrer ersten Teilnahme beim Three Peaks Bike Race entstanden ist. (Zu finden auf der Videoplattform des Grauens).
Und vom letzten Jahr gibt es auch eine Doku zum TCR im ZDF, finde die aber gerade nicht.
Der Gründer Mike Hall ist 2017 (meines Wissens auf dem Rad) ums Leben gekommen.

Deswegen IG schon lange deaktiviert. Kein Bock mehr auf algorithmisierte TLs, Werbung, Spyware und den ganzen Trackingmüll.
Wenn #lostdot meint, dies wäre das Medium der Wahl so be it, aber ohne mich.

Instagram ist so schrecklich! Ich nutze es gerade "ausnahmsweise" wieder zur Verfolgung des Transcontinental Race. Leider hat es sich dort als DAS Medium der meisten Radfahrys und auch des Veranstalters #lostdot etabliert. Alternativen wie pictame oder imginn hinken zeitlich hinterher und sind umständlich. Das Schlimmste: Man gerät sofort in den Sog, guckt Story für Story, dazwischen dauernd Werbung und in "Für Dich" seltsame Beiträge. Wirklich anstrengend. #tcrno12

Bei manchen "gesperrten Straßen" nimmt es #lostdot bzw. das #tcrno12 Team schon sehr genau... Oh, ein #flyingGemperle ist gleich in Sarajevo!

@der_raDDler @Radlerin @Einzigartiger Lostdot is pretty strict, they have to tide their bike back from the shop. There was a similar incident at last years Transpyrenees (also Lost dot) where the rider had to backtrack to stay in GC:

Irgendwie ist #Dotwatching sowas von anders als z.B. die Td[FS] passiv im Fernsehen zu konsumieren. Jeder ist Zuschauer und Kommentator zugleich. Und doch geht's dabei — zumindest hier im Fediverse — auch freundlich und sehr gesittet zu (auch wenn #Bikolinux wohl hier andere Erfahrungen gemacht hat). Mensch bekommt hier vor allem Fakten oder Details mit, die mensch selbst nicht bemerkt hat und tlw. sogar aus erster Hand von den Teilnehmenden selbst. 🥰🤩

Pfew, quite some bad luck and technical hiccups for Christoph Strasser 🇦🇹 in the last 24 hours: in his latest IG update he talks about a broken GPS device, a not properly functioning power bank and … two of his back lights that got stolen on the ferry 😱 !

Both ferries from Bari have now docked in Durrës. And the first few of a second batch of (fresh?) #TCRNo11 riders are ready to roll into Albania.
