While the lakes at Cregennan are special, it is the surrounding landscape that nestles in my mind. A place is bound up in the sensation held by one of its micro-areas: a particular part of the landscape, experienced in its own right, with its own qualities and presence. It is through this particularity that my connection to a site is rooted.

My studio was flooded in November 2024 - I was diagnosed with breast cancer in march 2025 - All clear there now - Hip has become tortuously painful, surgery for that is now 1 November 2026 - October 2026 seems certain area on my nose & the end of back of my neck is likely to be cancerous - (doctor tells me it's slow growing so the appointment for specialist could take up to six months) - - in the middle of the night last night.... I was wondering what about the next step on the painting I'm currently working on!
