I am enthralled by Legend in the Mists (and the Mists Engine). Now I just need to figure out how to run it. The rules are simple enough overall, but trying to wrap my head around rustic fantasy when I have not experienced it before is a challenge. I need to find a live play or two.

This evening's solo #LegendInTheMist was a crash course in "that escalated quickly."
This was all randomly rolled, plus a random side quest card from a deck I have.
My fae witch, Winfred, arrived in a village, walked past Doris' house and Doris asked her to help return a lost wallet that had been dropped. Turns out the dropped wallet didn't belong to the person who dropped it but to the mayor of the village. Someone had stolen it 😱

Managed to play a little solo #LegendInTheMist to distract from pain.
A mrowkin disruptsed our camp. Seede throws an apple at Finn to lure it towards him. He kills the mrowkin only to have another Red Marshal see & tell him off for killing it when the town nearby is trying to catch them to learn more about the Twilight Creatures. Finn apologises & promises to catch some.
Together the fellowship catch 3 mrowkin & take them to Ashstone where Finn tells Alderman Chiselheart that he's caught them.

Very proud of myself this evening. I pushed past all my self prescribed rules and requirements to solo some #LegendInTheMist in a way that's accessible for me at the moment.
Instead of being all "I should make notes. I should not use screens. I should read the text myself." I instead didn't make any notes, used Foundry VTT, and used my text to speech program to read stuff to me so it's easier for me to parse.

I feel like during a heatwave is a bad time to try to learn a new TTRPG system!

I am a clumsy beekeeper who has just noticed that some ants have been poisoned and has now discovered she herself is also poisoned from tracking the ants and is panicking. It is not going well; I became covered in honey and am now waterlogged and washing away the tracks as I follow them!

I've been reading the #LegendInTheMist playtest doc today. Actually I forgot that I'd ever backed it (late pledge) until I got an email about it, though historically that sort of project has produced the best results.
It mirrors a progression I've been having where I like detailed and open ended characters but find most #PbtA a bit much. The tag system looks easy to explain and has a direct link from character detail to action, not mediated via moves. Also more flexible than PbtA playbooks.
