Been wanting to read The Laundry Files by @cstross for quite some time and finally started The Atrocity Archives. So good! I’m going to be burning through this series!

Just finished the final (?) installment of the Laundry Files by @cstross : The Regicide Report. Just a little spoiler...it is very good and everyone should read the whole series. That was a good day. Through to Edinburgh to pick up a copy of @cstross latest 'The Regicide Report' from Transreal Fiction, pint in Greyfriars Bobby's Bar (full of tourists, to no-ones surprise) and a tour around the Edinburgh Hacklab.

Now devoured said book. Makes a suitably semi-apocalyptic ending to the Laundry Files. And I need to go and read up on Operation BARMAID, which is a bit of Cold War insanity I hadn't heard of...

(Yep, I’m rereading the #LaundryFiles by @cstross as a refresher for #TheRegicideReport)

I just gulped down #TheRegicideReport in 24 hours! It was very epic and satisfyingly ties a lot of plotlines and characters from the previous #LaundryFiles books together.

However, it has left me a bit melancholy. I guess I was hoping that @cstross would have some fresh ideas on how to definitively deal with monsters who have taken over your government and are indiscriminately killing people to further their own selfish goals. You know, topical advice.

With the final instalment of Charlie Stross’s #laundryFiles due out at the end of the month, now seems as good a time as any for a re-read of the series.

Another strong entry in the recent #LaundryFiles novels, with a really interesting trip into the Regency period of England.

I learn more vocabulary and weird facts from @cstross 's books than anywhere else. As I find myself on a bender of the later #LaundryFiles series, I need to either read in ebook format for the built in dictionary or have my phone or a physical dictionary near me.

Today's gem was learning about The Bluestocking Society, a women's rights and intellectual movement from the 18th century.

The new characters started out slow for me in Dead Lies Dreaming, but it's been picking up speed ever since I started that one. Here we are on the third novel with Wendy, Eve, Imp, and the crew.

40 pages in and I already know this one's going to be a banger!

Last night I decided to rectify a gap in my fiction consumption and checked out “The Atrocity Archives” by Charlie Stross. I have been working in the high-tech industry since the mid-nineties, so I am absolutely loving all the references to tech gear from the era.

The main characters (Bob and Mo) are well-written and are generally decent people so far (I’m halfway through) and I’m looking forward to what happens next!

“But do we get to play with safe opto-isolated geometry engines and invocation clusters here? Do we, fuck: we’re stuck with Dr. Volt and his thuggish friend Mr. Amp, and pray we don’t get a stray ground loop while the summoning core is present and active.”

Is there any chance that we might see a TTRPG source book based on your Laundry and New Management series?

I mean if Leigh Bardugo can get Green Ronin to create an RPG based on her Stone Sky series then it shouldn’t be too much trouble for you :D
