If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present.

Has anyone made a current translation with DU and Cluster Bombs?
.> The land where an army passed becomes desolated. After war, lean years come. ^1
^7.> Where the army marched
grow thorns and thistles.
After the war
come the bad harvests. ^2.> Wherever a host is stationed, briars and thorns spring up. In the
sequence of great armies there are sure to be bad years. ^3.> Where troops have encamped
There will brambles grow;
In the wake of a mighty army
Bad harvests follow without fail. ^4.> Where armies are quartered briars and thorns grow. Great wars unfailingly are followed by famines. A good man acts resolutely and then stops. He ventures not to take by force. ^5

"The Tao is like a well: used but never used up. It is like the eternal void: filled with infinite possibilities. It is hidden but always present. I don’t know who gave birth to it. It is older than God."
[#daodejing #taoteching by #Laotse #laotzu translated by Stephen Mitchell]
The #dao #tao is "infinity." It is everything, every being, molecule, atom, quark, boson, particle, wave, & force. It is time and everything time contains.

"...Practice not-doing, and everything will fall into place."

When I read Stephen Mitchell's translation of Laotse's words here, the word that comes to mind is "proportion." When I enjoy something, I tend to want more and more of it. Laotse warns me to be warry of 'too much of a good thing.' Instead of chasing the dopamine rush of excess, success and pleasure, I must remember the sage in Verse 2...(2/4)
