While at the Seattle Japanese Garden, we viewed a small art exhibit of Kiri-E, the Japanese folk art of cut-paper art. Basically it is drawing an image on paper, then cutting it out with a sharp knife. Heya! It's been a while since I shared a work-in-progress of my latest character project here!

But here goes; this will probably be my last work-in-progress before sharing the final render. I just need to make some final tweaks to her necklace and some other small improvements.

Other than that though, I am really happy with how this fanart is coming along!

Hey again! Here's another work-in-progress on my Kiri 3D sculpt. Lots of improvements over the previous version, but there's still work to be done.

It's been a really interesting experience to create a more realistic kind of face, -or atleast; less stylized than I am used to work with xD

Here is yet another work-in-progress of my #kiri fanart, a tribute to #AvatarTheWayOfWater, which is my new favorite movie!

Time and motivation has been my main roadblock, but by taking small steps every day, it's slowly but surely getting somewhere! -Which in term leads to more motivation! :D

And I know... it's YET another Workbench/viewport render, but I'm just not happy enough with the Cycles render yet xD

I came to the realization that I was going about this fanart a bit too quickly, causing me to miss some rather important base-level details. So I undone some 10 hours of work and reworked some fundamental details.

It is still a WIP, obviously, but I do think it's slowly getting better now :D

Considering how much Kiri's face changes troughout the movie, I might make a different variation where her face looks similar to OTHER reference I found.
