  1. I have finally joined the elite cadre of programmable #keyboard users. I got an Iris LM from #Keebio. I'm liking it so far, but I'm still rebuilding my muscle memory. #programming #development #ergonomics aa

  2. Tomorrow I should receive my new #keebio Iris LM #keyboard.

    I'm switching my local #Linux #development vm from vanilla #Ubuntu to #linuxmint #xfce.

I'm also in the middle of moving from #vscode to #neovim for #coding.

That's a lot of change crammed together for my day to day work. Ngl I'm wondering if this is a good idea. But #yolo.

  3. I order a Iris LM #keyboard from #keebio. It'll be my first programmable keyboard, and my first keyboard with the "staggered" keyboard layout instead of the traditional diagonal columns.

I'm told it will take several weeks to rebuild the muscle memory on the new layout.

Should be on my doorstep in few days.

  4. I switched back and forth between my old low profile very cheap non #mechanical #keyboard and my #keebio iris rev7 mechanical keyboard. Today I got my #Nuphy Air75 v3 and I am very happy too with it. The Nuphy has low profile mechanical switches and the iris normal cherry mx switches. I use linear red ones in both of them and I am very happy with them but now I am not sure to stick at my iris split keyboard or switch to another split with low profile mechanical switches like the #ZSA #Voyager or the Keebio Iris CE. Don't know which fit's better for me. I think I have to test them the next months.

  9. Argh! This mirrored 60% #Keebio #WTF60 #mechanicalkeyboard is so wacky, I'm kinda tempted to build one just for the looks at mechanical keyboard meetups: keeb.io/products/wtf60-mirrore 🤪

Unfortunately my experience with fitting of already "standard" 60% PCBs with "standard" 60% cases (especially wooden ones in combination with SA profile keycaps) is anything but good.

  10. Got my wife a Chocopad from keeb.io (link below) to help her with macros and common key combos/commands in Excel and she couldn't be happier. She wanted to put it together and was thrilled to see it come together.

I'll take any opportunity to build a keeb/macropad any day, especially when it helps my wife work easier 😁

  12. After 6 months of using it, I finally made the tutorial on how to compile and install a compatible firmware on the iris rev8 ergonomic mechanical keyboard, using Arch Linux.

I also show how to tweak the source code for the firmware to get 8 layers instead of the default 4! (the Raspberry Pi controller can take it)

is great, as you have the right to modify the code for it to do exactly what you need it for!

  13. My video on the unboxing and assembling the Iris Rev. 8 is up on three platforms!

I have been waiting for this piece of hardware to be available in the store for quite a while, and then waited a long time for the keycaps to get through customs, but now I have it, assembled in its full glory!

I'll "only" have to figure out how to take full advantage of the RP2040 chip, so I can have the best experience!

  14. I'm trying to get my Iris rev. 8 configured on , so I downloaded the appimage from GitHub, and created an udev rule in accordance with their guide. Unfortunately, it does not work.

I also got the appimage, which works, it prompted me for a root password and created an udev rule.

Is there a reason for that? Is it just a fact that Vial support less keyboard types than Via?

  15. CW: Keeb talk, rambling and me being forgetful once again

    It lives!

My keeb.io Cepstrum board is finally done and feels incredible to type on.

Links in the previous reply for the parts.

Please excuse my desk, I rearranged everything and haven't cable managed entirely 😅

  16. Funemployment project #1 published! It's a #3dprint display case for my old #mechanicalkeyboard, the #keebio Iris, in #OpenSCAD.

I haven't finished printing yet, but I will undoubtedly toot about that too when it happens.

  17. Speaking about , I was reading and studying the as a possible first split buy.
But then, thanks to @rriver I've found out the nice Yushakobo store in Japan that is the reference store for the Lily98.
Then I've found out that Lily98 is and that has been designed by a Japanese.
    My wife is Japanese.
Next summer will be back in Japan after three years.
Well, I think it's worth a stroll to the Yushakobo store.
    💪🏻
