  1. I had to stop listening. I love Melanie Little; I hope Karen Read wipes the floor with these shitheads. I had to stop.

Michael Proctor and Sean Goode literally praised Hitler and called Anne Frank-- yes, that Anne Frank -- a liar in messages to each other and somehow, SOMEHOW, when this came out they were defended by their employers anyway. Fucking burn it all down.

  3. Wow. I thought they'd be bad, but I didn't realize they'd be *this* bad. They're bad enough that anybody who knew about them is likely going down as well. Karen Read has brought a new lawsuit against the Mass State Police and the Canton PD, and I sincerely hope she ends up owning all of Norfolk County.

Sean Goode resigned from the Canton Mass PD two days ago, when he learned they'd lost the fight to keep the phone contents secret.

  5. I'm still mad at #KarenRead, so I donated to the Massachusetts Bail Fund so maybe someone who isn't a white woman can have a little help dealing with the system.

  7. CW: Controversial Karen Read opinion

I thought I was done with #KarenRead after finishing the Matt Orchard video. But suing? The gall. The utter and unspeakable nerve! Sue the state police, sure. They suck. But suing the Alberts and McCabes means she would actually have to prove the conspiracy theory way more than in her criminal trial. There it just needed enough to establish doubt. Establishing it more than 50% probability? I don’t think they have a chance. #TrueCrime

  9. Oh man Matt Orchard has a nice long video up on the #KarenRead case. I love his content. But I’m so fed up with KR that I don’t know if I can last through the video. Especially if he is more on her side than I am. It’s tough being in the minority on that one. #TrueCrime

  11. This Karen Read trial documentary really makes me feel like people will latch on to any opportunity to blame a woman for something, to the point of disregarding reason.

The biggest expenditure for that investigation must have been crayons.

  12. Judge Beverly Canone has been moved from criminal court to civil court in Plymouth County. I'll give you one guess which county Karen Read's civil case is in.

    But there no conspiracy 😱

  13. I have one more fairly annoying? unfortunate? follow-on thing to note about the #KarenRead case.

The group of law-ignoring Mass State Troopers attached to the Norfolk County DA office are involved in a third big case right now. It's all the same names that were involved in the Karen Read case, plus the ones involved in the coverup of the police murder of Sandra Birchmore.

There's a dude in Mass-- Bryan Walsh— who is accused of having murdered his wife on New Year’s day 2024. The state troopers collected all kinds of interesting things from his phone that make him look quite guilty indeed. The only problem is... they didn't have permission to search his phone for the things they looked at. They didn't have a warrant. They wrote a warrant for his house *based on* the things they found in his phone.

So, there's this pesky thing in the US called the Fourth Amendment that protects people from things like this, and further, there's case law establishing that evidence gathered on the *basis* of illegally obtained evidence is also not okay. "The fruit of the poisonous tree" is the phrase the lawyers seem to use for this.

There's an evidentiary hearing going on about a motion to suppress all the evidence that our good fired friend, disgraced ex-trooper Michael Proctor got by rampaging around Walsh's phone. If this motion wins—and it really should-- then the state won’t have much evidence left. And a guy that might very well be guilty of chopping his wife up and disposing of her body might walk.

You know why this all got looked at so hard? Because of all the attention on Karen Read and the shenanigans these exact troopers tried to pull on her. The Norfolk County DA's office is going to regret that prosecution at lot more by the time Morrissey gets voted out.

But mostly what I think is that the citizen of Mass ought to start demanding better work from their state police.

  15. Why haven't all the Prosecution's players in the #KarenRead case, i.e. the McAlberts, been arrested for perjury?

    Justice for John O'Keefe.

  16. Michael W Morrissey could have been remembered for taking down a connected local crime family, but instead he chose to go after an innocent woman. This should be the end of his career. I won't vote for him again.

  19. This video of the verdicts being read shows you how *confusing* the middle verdict form was. The clerk couldn't get it right when reading it.

    Things I liked:

The crowd erupting outside when the third verdict was announced.

David Yannetti, the excellent Boston lawyer who's been with her since day one, bursting into tears.

Hank Brennan doing the gracious thing for once.

Alan Jackson deferring to Karen's father at the microphones. Her parents are lovely.

Turtleboy (Aidan Kearney), the shit-stirring local blogger who initially got attention on the case, pointing out that Adam Lally, he of the “who, if anyone, was driving the ambulance?" line of questioning at the first trial, did better than Hank Brennan. And then calling for true justice for John O’Keefe, who went into a house alive and was dragged out onto its front lawn dead.

  21. The #KarenRead verdict depresses me. I think it's the correct one given how stupid the investigators were. But I still think she's guilty and am sad that John O'Keefe will not have justice for his death. But maybe I won't have to see her face or hear her name ever again. (I wish...)

  23. Verdict.

Not guilty on all things EXCEPT guilty on the misdemeanor DUI charge. Sentencing has already happened: 1 year probation.

IT IS OVER. The Commonwealth lost hard. In your FACE.

  25. NY Times - #News Karen Read Found Not Guilty of Murder in Boyfriend’s Death Outside Boston - A jury cleared Read of charges related to the 2022 death of her boyfriend, a Boston police officer, and convicted her only of drunk driving, almost a year after her first trial ended in a mistrial. #law #KarenRead #legal

  27. String of obscenities. My head is popping off.

Cannone is beyond corrupt. Her behavior in this trial is so different from her behavior in other trials that it's clear. Fucking shitshow.

    #KarenRead

  28. Oh my god, the next question is about what happens if they can't come to an agreement about one charge while agreeing on the other two.

In other words, exactly what happened in the first fucking trial. Great. Great.

Cannone says she doesn't want to tell them anything. Because it's hypothetical. She wants to say the court can't answer it.

Alan Jackson says they should tell them what the law is. They may come to verdicts on the charges they agree with.

The prosecution wants what Bev wants: they can answer that question later if the jury still has it.

Jackson protests. The court CAN answer the question and telling them it can't might suppress the next question from the jury about this, and then the mistrial would happen.

They might fucking force a mistrial with the confusing instructions. AGAIN. Jackson wants to answer "this is not a question the court can answer at this time". Bev notes the objection, but says it's about consequences of verdict so she can't.

Jackson says no, it's not about consequences, it's about what the jury is allowed to do.

Bederow is fuming. He points out that last week in New York, in the Harvey Weinstein trial, they took verdicts from the jury on some charges, then sent them BACK OUT to keep deliberating on the remaining ones.

Bev is maybe going to put in a sentence saying "this is theoretical". Then she cuts them off completely.

    What the actual fuck.

  29. Emerging from a string of meetings to find another jury question in progress, and Bev being difficult as usual. Scrubbing back to find out what it was...

Oh, hey! Bederow is on Melanie Little's livestream now. So is Auntie Deb. Excellent.
