I'm sure Jisun has an abundance of talents as an idol, but I'm also sure that the the appeal of her distinctive looks has played a part in her idol career.
Some people think of the Kpop industry's unashamed attention to visual attractiveness as a weakness. I think of it as a strength, not only because it affords me pleasure, but also because it prompts me to think about the part played by performance in general and the visual in particular in our appreciation of music.
