  2. What is your personal understanding of #antisemitism?

Take your time to read and compare the two most well-known attempts at defining it.

They are substantially different, both in their examples of what is antisemitic and what isn't; and in the respective consequences for the public discourse.

  3. "The #JerusalemDeclaration on #Antisemitism responds to “the #IHRA Definition,” the document that was adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) in 2016. Because the IHRA Definition is unclear in key respects and widely open to different interpretations, it has caused confusion and generated controversy, hence weakening the fight against antisemitism."

  4. CW: #noIHRA

I’m seeing lots of organizing against the #IHRA definition of #antisemitism. I originally thought it was more or less fine, but now realize how it is vague at best, even if you disregard the “illustrative examples”.

Once it’s rejected, now what? Should we adopt the #JerusalemDeclaration? The IJV definition? Or are specific policies for different kinds of racism not the right approach at all?

As #antisemitism escalates, I hope #noIHRA campaigners stick around to help build the solution.
