Jérôme Sabbagh - Heart
Sabbagh—not just a great saxophonist, but an audio enthusiast—has started his own label, Analog Tone Productions. This is the first release on that, recorded direct to two-track, and bypassing all EQ when cut.
It sounds great, doesn't spread the drums across the soundstage, with fine material and great interplay between Sabbagh, Joe Martin (bass) and Al Foster (drums).
Yes, *that* Al Foster.

Jerome Sabbagh - The Turn
Having enjoyed other Sabbagh albums recently, I was happy to have this short-press LP show up.
Excellent work by the quartet, on a spacious recording...my impressions were backed up by Fred Kaplan on a review from when it was released, with some additional info about the recording:

Jérôme Sabbagh - Vintage
Here's a great set of originals, along with some Strayhorn and Monk, played by a super solid quartet, including Sabbagh on tenor sax, Kenny Barron (piano - played with Getz, and at 80 is still a professor at Julliard), Jonathan Blake (drums) and Joe Martin (bass).
Great sounding recording and pressing, too.
