I had free-drink tickets for "Excelsior Caffe" that were about to expire - can‘t let that happen, so we went for a cafe lunch & dessert. Also made some reading time (German version of Stieg Larsson‘s first "Millennium" book)

First-time visit this afternoon to “Take it easy COFFEE”, a shop that opened earlier this year in the Shimo-Akatsuka area of Tokyo’s Itabashi Ward. The iced Soy Latte from their home-roasted espresso blend was quite satisfying, and the accompanying chocolate chip cookie provided a nice, not overly sweet balance. ☕️🍪

Nezu Coffee

Wrapping up my small series of posts from the visit to Tokyo’s Nezu area last Sunday, here are a few impressions from “Matcha & Espresso Miyano-Yu”, a café uniquely located in a renovated and re-purposed former sentō (communal bathhouse). Their specialty are matcha drinks, but I went with a Flat White coffee which wasn’t too shabby either. ☕️

During last weekend’s trip to Karuizawa in Nagano Prefecture, this was the Sunday lunch spot: “Cafe Suzunone” in Kyū-Karuizawa, smack dab in the middle of the forest. Atmospheric place with pretty good food.
