I had free-drink tickets for "Excelsior Caffe" that were about to expire - can‘t let that happen, so we went for a cafe lunch & dessert. Also made some reading time (German version of Stieg Larsson‘s first "Millennium" book)

First-time visit this afternoon to “Take it easy COFFEE”, a shop that opened earlier this year in the Shimo-Akatsuka area of Tokyo’s Itabashi Ward. The iced Soy Latte from their home-roasted espresso blend was quite satisfying, and the accompanying chocolate chip cookie provided a nice, not overly sweet balance. ☕️🍪

"Uno Cafe" near Katori Jingū is a place that we had discovered on our first visit last year. Established in 1937, the place has a quirky and unique interior that feels very homely. Their specialty sweets are Kusadango, and they make an absolute banger of a Caffe Latte from their own roast (I brought back a small bag to enjoy their flavorful coffee at home over the next couple of days). ☕️

I had some consular stuff to do early yesterday morning at the German embassy in Hiroo, which gave me an opportunity to take a stroll (and some photos) in the adjacent Arisugawa-no-miya Memorial Park. Had left home on an empty stomach, so afterwards headed to the nearby “HauS Bake & Cafe” and tried their “Special Morning Plate” which was quite satisfying.😋
