No games have really been sticking with me lately, and I've been on a bit of a "fuck it, I'll watch the game on YouTube" kick.
But I booted up Jade Cocoon, which I rented a lot as a kid and never beat, and it's got hooks in me just for the atmosphere.
It's a pokemon clone for the PS1 but the character design and some cutscenes were animated by a ghibli animator.
Battle system is terrible, monster merging is a mess, and it has probably the WORST monster design of any pokemon clone ever produced, but the music is so good and its been a pretty relaxing RPG so far (spider forest)

#JadeCocoon ist ein #JRPG für die #PlayStation, das im November 1999 erschien. Es hat wunderschöne vorgerenderte Hintergründe und deutsche Sprachausgabe, die Story ist spannend aber nicht zu lang, ungefähr 14h braucht man für die Story, aber man kann viel mehr Zeit mit dem Spiel verbringen, wenn man alles sehen will. Vom Gameplay her erinnert es an #Pokemon. 😊
