There are jackdaws aplenty in our backyard but very rarely do crows show up. Today I left out some cat food, dried worms and peanuts, which the jackdaws immediately descended upon. It seems the commotion caught the attention of a couple of doves and also this crow.

Enjoying using the #Merlin bird song ID app. Currently hearing nice clear #Eurasian #robin and #jackdaw #songs outside. Wonder how much better it could be with a highly directional #microphone? It's doing incredibly well just using the Galaxy tablet's internal mic that lives behind a tiny hole in the case. Every day's a school day 🙂

My husband gave me a trail cam for our wedding anniversary today. I wanted to have a camera in this part of the backyard to see what kind of animals hang out here. It immediately caught these delinquents in the act of destroying our property 🤣

This morning my husband told me about a jackdaw in the backyard who didn't fly away when he got near. I thought that was strange because they're usually pretty skittish. But then I went into the garden and found out why. The poor little guy had an injured wing and could no longer fly.

I managed to capture him and brought him to a wildlife rescue center where he will be looked after and hopefully cured.

Went for a nice long family walk at #ParkSchothorst didn't get a lot of good bird photos, but this handsome jackdaw (kauw) was posing and strutting around us when we arrived. First time I saw a lapwing (kievit), but didn't manage to get a photo.

Eén buizerd en een he-le-boel kauwen. Die buizerd zie ik daar niet zo vaak, maar die kauwen des te meer. Ieder najaar zoeken ze aan het eind van de middag hun slaapplaatsen op, hier bij het GelreDome in Arnhem.
