I was in there in 1972 and was one of the timekeepers when this chap. Mike Thomas from Canada, broke the Canadian record for the longest flight of an indoor model aeroplane in the F1D World Championships. Around 40 minutes. That's right well over half an hour's flight from a model weighing just over 1 gramme.
He did not win the competition, that went to an American chap who managed 48 minutes.
