So, anybody out there have a cool #gis project? And you would be willing to talk about for ~30 minutes?
Starting next year, I'll be running the #ILGISA (Illinois GIS Association) Webinar Series, and we're looking to build the 2025 calendar.
Presentations can be pre-recorded if that's easier for you, but we do like to have live questions afterward.
Don't forget, the webinar series is open to all regardless of membership!
And since I"m running it, I'd love to see more #FOSS stuff.

Had a good day at the #ILGISA Chicago meetup!
I talked a lot about #OpenStreetMap , particularly how one might use it (and how Kendall County is going to start using it) for some basic asset inventory work.
Positive responses! Maybe we'll even see a few more authoritative data sources starting to engage with OSM.

My goal is to completely overwhelm a bunch of public sector :arcgis: customers with FOSS stuff. I asked for an hour, but we'll see if I can fit it into the 30 minutes they gave me...
I will be talking about how to use things like #osmium, #osm2pgsql, #imposm, #postgis :postgis: , #qgis :qgis: , and #OpenStreetMap together to make really nice things.

Well, that's a wrap! Another really nice, informative #ILGISA.
Kind of surprising how long people let me talk about #OpenStreetMap. I managed to fill 90 minutes.
Oh, and I got an invitation to speak at IDOT's #GISDay event! Fun times!

It's the eve of #ILGISA and I am *still* trying to nail down the finer points of Wednesday's workshop. I think it's going to be fine, but there will be lots of "winging it". 😬

Got the list of attendees for my #ILGISA workshop later this month. Trying not to feel intimidated by some of the titles, but also feeling very excited to get a bunch of public sector #gis people started with using #OpenStreetMap data!

It is, admittedly, a LOT to pack into a single presentation, but I'm not really aiming to give a comprehensive overview of any of the topics, more like a sampler platter.
The ultimate goal is to turn this into a technical workshop for the #ILGISA Annual Conference in the fall, where I would actually have about 3 hours to work through these concepts in detail with the audience.
Tomorrow will sort of be like the trailer for that workshop.
