So, the #Kioxia #NVMe SSD for my #RaspberryPi is now mounted. It was as straightforward as putting it together, using SD card copier on the live system, shutting down, unplugging the old usb drive and… Voila!🙈

The most surprising result is not the speed but the power draw cut in half! It’s now sipping around 7W instead of 15W!🥰

I now perhaps need a new case for it…😂🫣

I’ve had my #RaspberryPi fail yet again and at this point I’m starting to think previous issues were not my fault. I think the SD card is failing due to the intensive use of it by the OS.

So, I’m gonna be upgrading it with an #NVMe base from #Pimoroni! I’ve already have it delivered but still waiting for the NVMe drive itself.

Hoping for better performance AND reliability!🥰

Now, I've put some more devices in the walls or in the sockets. The map is now far more complex (still not THAT complex), but also the network is more resilient.🙏

I’ve attempted (this time in gloves) another wall socket replacement but… Fuck me!🤡

Looked at the connection and I didn’t understand what the fuck the maker of this abomination had in mind… I’m not touching that without an electrician…😂

On the top of that, it would be necessary to both drill out the back of the box and chisel it to make it wider… I’m not in the mood for that right now…

I took extra care to make sure the cables are arranged as neatly as possible. Bought 6mm wide, flat ethernet cables and 6mm double sided 3M tape. In some places you wouldn’t even notice at first glance there’s a patch cord in there! In other it was unavoidable…🫣😂
