Oh dear. Had to stop half way and give it a bath. 🛁

Edit: Once again, and I will never tire of saying it, the difference is outstanding. Sounds like a new record now.

Had to pick this up when I saw it. I’m a big fan of Bert Jansch, and Bert & John collaborated many times. They are two peas from the same pod. I think I probably have all these tracks spread over several LPs but nice to have this sampler anyway. Again, a #HumminGuru clean was required.

I am once again in awe of the difference a sonic clean makes. My ears will never get used to it 😄

This one was from Truck Records in Witney. Not a charity shop, but a charity shop price!

Next up is Ghost In The Machine from The Police. Needed a good clean in the #HumminGuru and it had quite a few surface marks but they don’t affect playing. It actually sounds terrific after the clean.

Ok that’s done the job. Sounds great now. Some records are obviously going to take more deep cleaning than others. The Herb Alpert looked horrendous but one clean and it sounds superb. This one looked fine but took three cleans. But hey, that’s what Sundays are for 😄#HumminGuru #vinyl

Hmm. Well first clean/dry improved things. Still some noise though. I think this has deep groove dirt whilst on the surface looks fine. Putting it through another 5 min clean cycle. #HumminGuru #vinyl

Now a proper before and after. I played the Paul Tortelier record last night and although that looked really clean the pops and crackles were almost too much to listen to. Putting it through the machine now. #HumminGuru #vinyl

I would say though, that to put a record in, have it clean and dry on automated mode whilst sipping coffee and watching the football is almost worth the purchase alone! #HumminGuru #vinyl

Of course, I don’t know if a normal spin clean would produce the same results, I have had good results using that method, and maybe it’s confirmation bias, but to me these sound incredible, very detailed. #HumminGuru #vinyl

Ok, stunning results. The sound is much better than I was expecting. These were in pretty grotty condition. No background hum between tracks, no noise of any kind. I’m impressed. #HumminGuru #vinyl

I’m either a sucker for shiny tech and have wasted my money, or this will prove to be one of my best purchases. Will soon find out. The Herb Alpert box set was particularly grimy. Let’s see how it goes.
