  1. made a #design from #hexagons in #b3d #blender3D
    this time not with motion in mind but sooner or later a spraycan and a wall :)
    maybe I should put up the version on the wall that is 30 degrees rotated and very unbalanced just because...
    since this is the 3d sketch for a painting it might as well fit for #wipWednesday

  2. Happy holidays, season‘s greetings, merry Christmas, and a happy new year, my hexagonal friends, stay in shape 🌐🪩🎄

  3. #TilingTuesday - Exploring what happens when you #tile five #hexagons around a #decagon and fill in the gaps using only equilateral shapes.

  5. #30DayMapChallenge Day 4 #Hexagons comes from @haavardaagesen showing the locations of geotagged Tweets from cross-border movers in Europe during 2021–2022. The data is used in the #BORDERSPACE project lead by Olle Jarv to study cross-border mobility.

    Study of the mobility is crucial in the #EU as the #Schengen agreement allows for free mobility between member states resulting in little official data on the characteristics of cross-border mobility.

  10. Reposting this code snippet from Jerôme Mutterer on the bad place. I thought this was so neat:
    Drawing in

    ```
    newImage("hexagons","8-bit black",512,512,1);
    run("Macro...","code=s=40;s2=round(s*sqrt(3)/2);v=(d<getWidth/2)*255*((x%s2<1)&&((y+0.5*s*(x%(2*s2)<1))%s<1))");
    run("Voronoi");
    setMinAndMax(0,1);
    ```

  11. For those interested in such things, here is a series of interpolated hierarchical hexagon population density visualisation for the British Isles/Islands off Northern Europe ("INE")

    Using @WorldPopProject rastar world-population data, @geopandas, @pysal and -py

    The GeoPKG population density data is then rendered in @qgis

    Once tidied up I'll publish the code on @GitHub under github.com/anisotropi4

  12. The structure of two-dimensional titanium oxide breaks up at high temperatures by adding #barium; instead of regular #hexagons, rings of four, seven and ten #atoms are created that order periodically.
