I didn't take a photo of the hundreds of spent gecko eggs that fell out of a light fixture I just replaced (third time this has happened) but imagine a pearl-colored ovoid about the shape and size of a jelly belly. Bigger than I would've expected.

This little Ensatina salamander wandered into our garage and was trapped in one of our humane mouse traps. After a quick photo session, I placed it out in some thick accumulated leaf litter under our big Japanese maple. #nature #salamander #Ensatina #amphibian #herpatology #herp #naturephotography

Spotted one of these little guys eating a cricket in our driveway. These green #snakes are pretty hard to spot; this one just happened to be right in the middle of the driveway so he stood out against the ground. I've heard they're pretty rare so I went ahead and reported seeing it to the University of #Kentucky.
