Over the years, @SaraMeerow and I have evaluated many plans to see how well they address extreme heat. In this Global Disaster Preparedness Center project with Saeideh Sobhaninia, we explored how heat action plans are actually being implemented and asked officials about their perceived effectiveness. Check out our new report and the Heat Action Plan Implementation and Effectiveness (HAPIE) Tool we developed to help cities connect their heat goals to measurable outcomes!

Fascinating to learn about the 3 pillars of #HeatActionPlan s - information, infrastructure (water bodies) and social networks - and, especially, that all current 7 #ChiefHeatOfficer s across the world are women, who lead #ClimateAdaption generally. “it’s women who pick up the pieces”

New for me but of course, #India and many other countries have been working on these for years. #HAPs are a good focal point for exploring how the #ClimateCrisis intersects with so much else, including #Infrastructure and #SDGs.
