I belatedly realize that when I read a book with some challenging aspects (today it's #HarrowTheNinth, which I underestimated, to my regret), I should have been using my ebook reader's highlight & annotate to mark up things that I find puzzling or remarkable along the way. A diligent application might be a workable alternative to the second reading that I'm beginning to see is required and deserved. 1/2

I'd like to commission a piece of artwork for an RPG prop. I hope to make a fictional magazine set in Tamsyn Muir's Locked Tomb universe and I'd like to commission the cover and perhaps back cover artwork for it. Obviously, the magazine itself is of a prurient nature (Does any other kind of magazine exist among the Nine Houses?) but I'm not looking for smut, just a somewhat-suggestive piece in the style of a fashion magazine cover, plus the typography to make it look the part. I have now read through #HarrowTheNinth twice, #NonaTheNinth twice, and I'm starting Harrow again.
The first line of mysterious writing only Harrow can see, in HtN, finally makes sense. At least halfway.
I swear, this series is structured so there's action, and then the information you need to understand the action is in the NEXT book. Good thing Tamsyn Muir is such an engaging writer.

Halfway through book 1, I vowed that Tamsyn would never make me like Harrow.
Fast forward, and I've decided Harrow should murder every other character in the series and retire somewhere...well, not warm and sunny; she'd hate that. Somewhere dark and quiet. Kill them all, Harrow!
